In a swift and courageous operation, troops of the Nigerian Army deployed for counter-terrorism operations in the North Central region, in collaboration with Volunteer Guards, thwarted a kidnapping attempt and rescued two victims in Benue State. The heroic rescue unfolded in the enclave of a suspected kidnap gang in Tsede Village, along Road Tor Donga Takum in Katsina Ala Local Government Area of Benue State.
The operation was triggered by a distress call, prompting the troops to swiftly mobilize to the location where they encountered the kidnappers. A fierce shootout ensued, compelling the criminals to flee, abandoning their captives in the process.

The two rescued victims, identified as Chief Sano Kursi and Augustine Sada, were fortunately unharmed and have been joyfully reunited with their families. The successful operation also resulted in the recovery of a cache of weapons, including one FN rifle, one FN rifle magazine, 17 AK-47 rifle magazines, 10 rounds of 7.62 mm (Special) ammunition, 58 rounds of 7.62 mm (NATO) ammunition, and three ATM cards.
This latest incident underscores the ongoing efforts of security forces and volunteer groups in Nigeria to combat the menace of kidnapping and insurgency, particularly in the volatile North Central region. The bravery and prompt response demonstrated by the troops have once again proven instrumental in safeguarding the lives and property of citizens against criminal elements.
