Contrary to misconceptions, the group clarified that the National Security Adviser’s office would not directly collect the levy. Instead, they urged the federal government to foster transparency by engaging citizens in comprehensive discussions about the levy’s purpose and implementation.

Addressing concerns about public resistance to taxes and levies, the coalition emphasized the broader significance of the cybersecurity levy beyond its immediate financial implications. They urged Nigerians to look beyond personal inconvenience and recognize the critical role it plays in safeguarding national security interests.

In conclusion, the Coalition of Civil Society Groups for Transparency and Accountability called for unified support from Nigerians to ensure the effective implementation of the cybersecurity levy, emphasizing its pivotal role in combating cyber threats and protecting the nation’s digital infrastructure.
