The President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has praised Nigerian football stars Ademola Lookman, Chiamaka Nnadozie, and the Super Falcons for their remarkable achievements at the 2024 CAF Awards, reaffirming the Senate’s dedication to advancing sports development in Nigeria.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Hon. Eseme Eyiboh, Akpabio congratulated Ademola Lookman, forward for Atalanta, on being named the CAF Men’s Player of the Year. He described the honor as well-deserved and a testament to Lookman’s exceptional skills and perseverance.

“I wish to congratulate one of our finest footballers and an international superstar, Ademola Lookman, on his well-deserved win as the CAF Men’s Player of the Year. This prestigious award reflects his hard work and brilliance on the field,” Akpabio stated.
He also extended his accolades to Chiamaka Nnadozie, the goalkeeper for the Super Falcons, for winning the CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year Award for the second year in a row. Akpabio highlighted her role as an inspiration to young Nigerian girls aspiring to excel in sports.
The Senate President further commended the Super Falcons for their unity and dedication, which earned them the CAF Women’s National Team of the Year Award. He described their success as a reflection of Nigeria’s immense sporting talent and teamwork.
