N/Assembly To Give All Groups Advocating States Creation Equal Opportunities: Deputy Senate President, Sen. Barau.

The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, who also chairs the Senate Committee on Constitution Review has confirmed the 10th Assembly would give all groups advocating states creation equal opportunities to present their cases.

Senator Barau stated this when members of the movement led by Senator Mas’ud El-Jibrin Doguwa paid him a visit at his office in the National Assembly on Wednesday.

While addressing members of the movement on the creation of Tiga and Gari states from the present Kano State, Senator Barau assures the National Assembly would be just to all during the review of the 1999 Constitution.
He then applauded the members of the movement for Tiga and Gari states for keeping the movement alive and sustaining the tempo over the years.
Senator Doguwa emphasized the need for the creation of these two states from the northern heavyweight, owing to rigorous advocacy by groups and locales over the last 40 years, its land mass and dense population are expected to help accelerate their developments.
“We want two more states to be created out of the present Kano State. This will bring about much-needed development. In the last 40 years, we have been advocating the creation of two more states from Kano. We are not pushing for it to fight anybody but to attract development,’’ he said.
Senator Doguwa enjoined the Deputy Senate President to support the project, further describing him as a pillar of the ruling party, APC, in the State. He also praised his efforts in ensuing progress and implementation in the numerous projects across the three senatorial districts in the State.
‘’It was because of your performance and relationship with the people that the APC got the votes garnered during the last general elections in Kano State. You are the pillar of APC in Kano State, whether you like it or not, you are the pillar. All emirates in Kano have benefitted immensely from the numerous projects you have attracted to our state”.
