The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Ojomu/Balogun Constituency At Kwara State House of Assembly in the 2023 general elections SA Lukman has lament the pace of the the Kwara State governor is running

The politician and activist claims the state remain the only one left behind in inaugurating State Executive Cabinet otherwise known as Commissioners, and a precedence rather a bad omen.

It’s so pathetic that kwara state was among states that stage managed the deadline for submission of list of commisioners to state Assemblies, he said “According to section 42 of the constitution, “the nomination of any person to the office of a minister/Commissioner for confirmation by the senate/state House of Assembly shall be done within 60 days after the date the president/Governor has taken oath of office”.

Many state almost violated this new provision on this sensitive role of putting on ground a working team for the good of her citizens and smooth running of administration, aside the fact that this act of delay is unconstitutional, illegal and deliberate act of insensitivity and aflagrant abuse of constitutional provision by some state Governors including Gov. Abdulrasak Abdulrahman of Kwara State.

Kwara is the only state in Nigeria with out a chief of staff, a Secretary to State Government and no Commissioners even after over 3months post oath of office taken.

Its expected a state like kwara whose Governor is now Chairman, Nigeria Governor’s Forum, a role that requires His Excellency presence and attention more outside the state should have cabinet put inplace much more earlier , infact faster than others , but reverse is the case in kwara with

Gov Abdulrasak approach to Governance affairs assumed to be out share disregard and low premium place on kwara and kwara electorates hence have no cabinet or significant offices such as SSG and COS appointed so far, this can’t be lesser to display of gross incompetence and low capability to handle the dual responsibilities of Being a Governor and Chairman of Governors Forum.

One need not to remind His Excellency, Governor Abdulrasak Abdulrahaman, the need to prioritize kwara and

Mr Governor should therefore stop JUNCKETTING around the country in the name of NGF while kwara Governance ship is sinking as nothing seems working perfectly with no cabinet members innaguarated.

It’s important I equally call the attention of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasak to urgent need to declare State of Emergency on Offa Local Government roads , as the second largest economy inclined LG in the state having none of her road motorable any longer, a LG that houses 15 tertiary institutions including Federal, State and Privates, having all her roads, now a death traps , the rate of accident is alarming hence a call for urgent action.

Also he “opined during 2023 General election campaign, kwara state Roads Maintenence Agency KWARMA act should be review with focus on decentralization to enable prompt action of the agency on urgent and immediate repairs on our major roads of economic and survival importance .

Every local Government Authority Works department should be made functional and effective to respond to Road Repair and Maintenence with at least 3 Senatorial office of KWARMA, one each at every senatorial district headquarters for prompt intervention, monitoring and supervision. These I suggested and pledge to canvasses for the good of our people.

Resources engulfed in road construction are so enormous hence the need for proper maintenance of our roads infrastructures, a prompt repair can safe the life span of any road instead of allowing small potholes turn big and eventually destroy the entire road. State Government must consider this or any other option deem fit to pay more attention to prompt and timely repairs of our roads which should not be limited to state capital only but every other local Government Areas of the state .
