Some Nigerians residing in the United States have lauded President Bola Tinubu for his impartial stance in the ongoing Rivers State crisis, particularly in the conflict between Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike.
Under the banner of the Association of Nigerian Professionals in Diaspora (ANProD), these individuals expressed appreciation for President Tinubu’s commitment to maintaining neutrality, asserting that it is a positive step for democracy.

The crisis, which has been ongoing, saw President Tinubu’s intervention in October 2023, where he facilitated a peace pact agreement between the warring factions. Despite this effort, hostilities have persisted, prompting reassurances from the presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, that President Tinubu will remain impartial while ensuring the smooth functioning of the state government.
In a statement issued by Dr. Guy Mc-Ikpa, the President of ANProD, the group lauded President Tinubu’s leadership for refusing to take sides, even though Governor Wike is a member of his cabinet. Mc-Ikpa emphasized that President Tinubu’s impartiality has set a commendable example, demonstrating leadership in the face of conflicting interests.
