British Army Opens Applications for Commonwealth Citizens

The British Army has announced the opening of its application portal for qualified candidates from 56 Commonwealth countries. The recruitment drive will accept applications for a limited number of roles across specific branches of the Army.

The available roles include:

1. Corps of Army Music (Musician)
2. Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME)
3. Royal Engineers Technician (RE Technician)
4. Tradesman and Para (Paratrooper)

Applications outside these specified roles will not be considered. Interested candidates can submit their applications via the British Army Application Portal.

Application Procedure:

In the Home Country:

1. Submit the application linked to the Recruit Bounty Scheme (RBS).
2. Complete the Online Medical Questionnaire.
3. Answer Initial Application Questions.
4. Provide details on Tattoos.
5. Fill out the Family Origins Questionnaire to determine the necessity of a Sickle Cell Test.
6. Upload Passport, Education, and Trade certificates.
7. Participate in a phone or Teams Interview.
8. Complete the Recruiting Group Medical Declaration.
9. Obtain a Police Report (request only when instructed to avoid expiration).

Upon Arrival in the UK:

1. Notify your careers advisor of your arrival and send a copy of the entry stamp.
2. Provide a Sponsor’s Proof of Address and a UK phone number for contact.
3. If necessary, undergo a Sickle Cell Test at a local Nuffield Hospital or during the Assessment Centre visit.
4. Attend a two-night stay at the Assessment Centre.
5. Complete a face-to-face Medical examination.
6. Participate in classroom tests based on Education Certificates and the Army Cognitive Test.
7. Perform Physical Tests, including a Medicine Ball Throw, Mid-Thigh Pull, Beep Test, and Team Tasks to observe teamwork.
