In a swift development following Ajuri Ngelale’s resignation, Bayo Onanuga has officially signed an official statement as the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, marking his first major act by signing a State House press release on a tragic incident in Niger State.

President Tinubu expressed his deep condolences to the government and people of Niger State following a petrol tanker explosion on the Bida-Agaie-Lapai road, which claimed 48 lives, including livestock. The tragic accident, which also involved a truck carrying cattle and passengers, has left many others injured, according to the Niger Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).

In the release, Onanuga conveyed President Tinubu’s sympathies to the families of the victims and the owners of shops affected by the explosion. The President also offered prayers for the speedy recovery of the injured.

Commending the federal and state emergency agencies for their prompt response, President Tinubu applauded the actions of concerned citizens who rushed to assist victims at the scene. Furthermore, the President pledged his administration’s continued support to provide relief for those impacted by the accident.

In light of the tragedy, President Tinubu has directed federal agencies responsible for transportation and road infrastructure to intensify efforts in collaboration with state governments to enhance safety and security for travelers and residents across the nation.

Onanuga’s action. marks a significant shift in the State House’s communication strategy, as he takes over from Ngelale in shaping the administration’s media narrative moving forward.
